How to add size charts to WooCommerce products
WooCommerce does not include a reusable size-chart manager in its core product editor. For a few products, add a table to each product description; for a larger catalogue, use a plugin that supports reusable charts, product or category assignments and popup display.

- 02Add a chart manually
- 03Choose a reusable chart method
- 04Create the size chart
- 05Assign and display the chart

What you need
- A WooCommerce store with products already added
- Admin access to WordPress
- Accurate product measurements and sizing information
- A mobile-friendly table or chart design
Prepare accurate measurements
Decide whether the chart shows body measurements, garment measurements, shoe conversions or another sizing system. Label every column clearly and state the unit, such as in or cm. If customers need to measure themselves, add short instructions explaining where to measure.
Do not copy a generic chart unless it matches the actual product. A common source of returns is showing a body-size chart when the numbers describe the garment, or mixing inches and centimetres without saying which is which.
Add a chart manually
For a small catalogue, open Products > All Products and edit a product. Add the table to the product description using the editor's table block, or switch to the HTML view and enter a table. WooCommerce's product description accepts tables, HTML, images and other content.
This route is fine when only a few products need different charts. Its drawback is maintenance: you must repeat the table on every relevant product, and changing a brand's measurements means editing each copy. The chart will normally appear wherever your theme places the product description, not automatically as a popup or dedicated size-chart button.
Choose a reusable chart method
If several products share a chart, use a size-chart extension or plugin rather than duplicating the table. Dedicated tools commonly let you create a table or upload a chart image, then display it as a product tab, popup or shortcode.
Use the manual method for a small, stable catalogue. Choose a plugin when you need one chart reused across products, categories or tags, or when customers need to open the chart without leaving the buying section.
Create the size chart
Install and activate your chosen size-chart plugin, then open the plugin's chart management screen. Create a chart title, add any explanatory text, choose a table or image, and enter the rows and columns. Most dedicated chart tools provide controls to add or remove rows and columns.
Keep the first column for the size label and use clear headings such as chest, waist, hip, sleeve or inseam. If you sell internationally, provide a second unit or a conversion chart rather than expecting customers to convert measurements themselves.
Assign and display the chart
Assign the chart to the relevant products. Depending on the tool, you may be able to target individual products, product categories, tags or other rules. Then choose whether it appears inline, in an extra product tab, as a button that opens a popup, or through a shortcode.
For apparel, put the button near the size selector or add-to-cart area. Check for overlapping global, category and product rules: an incorrect assignment can show the wrong chart, while a disabled chart or an unassigned product can make the button disappear. Support reports also commonly point to wrong category assignments and page-builder conflicts when a chart does not appear.
Test before publishing
Open a real product page as a logged-out visitor and test the chart on a phone and desktop. Confirm that the correct chart appears, the popup or tab opens, the table can be read without clipped columns, and every measurement uses the stated unit.
Also test products that share a category or tag, products with exceptions, and products with several size systems. If you want the fast route, WPC Product Size Chart for WooCommerce is a suitable option for apparel stores because it supports reusable popup charts with product, category, tag and brand targeting. It also supports shortcode placement when the default product-page position is not suitable.

Questions
- Does WooCommerce have a size-chart feature built in?
- No. WooCommerce's core product editor provides product description, short description, attributes and product data, but not a reusable size-chart manager. You can add a table manually to the product description, which is practical for a small catalogue, or add a dedicated extension when charts must be reused and targeted across many products.
- Can I add a size chart without a plugin?
- Yes. Edit the product and insert a table in its description, including the size labels, measurements, units and measuring instructions. This works well for a few products, but WooCommerce will not automatically reuse that table across other products or open it in a popup, so repeated updates become manual.
- Should a size chart show body or garment measurements?
- State clearly whether the numbers describe the customer's body or the finished garment. Use the measurement type that matches how customers choose the product, and explain how to measure. Mixing those two types is a frequent cause of confusion because a customer may compare their body measurement with a garment measurement and choose the wrong size.
- Why is my WooCommerce size chart not showing?
- First check that the chart is enabled and assigned to the product, category or tag you are viewing. Then check whether an exclusion or higher-priority rule hides it, whether the shortcode is in a location your page builder renders, and whether the theme is removing or changing product-page content. Test the page while logged out and on mobile.
- Can size charts open in a popup on product pages?
- Yes, but a popup normally requires a size-chart plugin or extension. Dedicated tools commonly offer popup, tab, inline or shortcode display, along with product and category assignments. For a store with many apparel products, a reusable popup chart is faster to maintain than copying a table into every description.
