How to create landing pages for an affiliate program
You can create a basic affiliate-program landing page with WordPress Pages and the block editor. Add the commission offer, benefits, proof, terms and one clear application button, then connect a form and tracking. For affiliate-specific URLs, attribution and testing, use an affiliate plugin.

What you need
- A WordPress site with admin access
- Your commission rate, payout terms and programme rules
- An affiliate application or email form
- An affiliate tracking system if you need referral attribution
Choose the page's job
Decide whether the page is recruiting new affiliates or giving existing affiliates a page they can promote. Do not combine both jobs on one page unless you have a clear reason. A recruitment page should drive applications; a promotional page should drive product sales.
Write down the audience, the one action you want them to take and the source of traffic. This prevents a common failure: sending potential affiliates to a generic homepage with no commission details or application path.
Create a focused WordPress page
Go to Pages in the WordPress dashboard, choose Add New, add a descriptive title and build the page with blocks. WordPress supports different page templates, so choose a full-width or landing-page template if your theme provides one.
For a cleaner page, use a custom template that removes distractions such as the main menu and unrelated sidebar content. With a block theme, you can create or edit templates from the Site Editor; remember that template changes can affect every page using that template.
Build the offer section by section
Use a simple structure: a specific headline, a short explanation of who the programme suits, the commission and payout terms, key benefits, product proof, promotional resources, programme rules, frequently asked questions and one repeated call to action.
Make the application button specific, such as Apply to become an affiliate. Keep the page honest about approval, prohibited promotion methods, payment timing, cookie duration and whether affiliates receive creative assets. Avoid several competing buttons that send visitors to different destinations.
Add the application and tracking
Place an application form or email capture form near the first call to action and again near the bottom. Ask only for information you need to review the application. Send a clear confirmation message after submission so applicants know whether their application was received.
WordPress pages alone do not attribute commissions to affiliates. Connect the page and your sales process to an affiliate-tracking system, or give approved affiliates tracked links from the system you already use. Test the full path from landing-page visit to application, approval, tracked click and completed sale.
Test the page before traffic arrives
Preview the page on a phone, tablet and desktop. Check the form, button destinations, confirmation email, privacy text, page speed, headings and SEO title. Submit a real test application and verify that it arrives in the right inbox or CRM.
If you use a custom template, check that the page content actually appears. A frequent WordPress mistake is editing a template without including the block that outputs the page content, or changing a shared template and unintentionally changing other pages.
Use a plugin for the fast route
The manual route is fine for one recruitment page and a small programme. Use AffiliateWP when you need affiliate-specific landing pages, tracked referrals and a central place for affiliates to find the pages assigned to them. Its Affiliate Landing Pages feature lets you enable supported post types, assign a page to an affiliate and display the assigned URL in the Affiliate Area.
Be aware of the operational limits before building a large system: an assigned landing page is associated with one affiliate at a time, and pages are not automatically created when affiliates register. Set up your page templates and content first, then assign pages deliberately and test cookie attribution, redirects, caching and any last-referrer setting.

Questions
- What should an affiliate programme landing page include?
- An affiliate programme landing page should include the commission, payout timing, eligibility, application process, promotional rules, product information, available creative assets and answers to common questions. Give visitors one main action, such as applying to join, and repeat that action after the most important sections rather than adding unrelated navigation.
- Can I create an affiliate landing page without a plugin?
- Yes, you can create the page itself with WordPress and the block editor without a plugin. You still need an affiliate-tracking system to attribute clicks and sales, plus a form tool or email workflow to handle applications. The manual route works for a small programme but becomes difficult when each affiliate needs a different tracked page or URL.
- Should an affiliate landing page have a menu and footer?
- A recruitment page usually works better with fewer distractions, so you can use a landing-page template without the normal menu or sidebar. Keep essential trust and legal information available, including contact details and programme terms. If you edit a shared WordPress template, check other pages afterwards because the change may affect every page using it.
- How do I give each affiliate a different landing page?
- Create the pages first, then use an affiliate system that supports assigning pages to individual affiliates and recording visits or sales against those assignments. AffiliateWP's landing-page feature supports assigned WordPress pages or posts and shows the assigned URL in the affiliate area, but one assigned page cannot be allocated to multiple affiliates at the same time.
- Why are applications or sales not being tracked?
- Tracking usually fails because the form confirmation, affiliate cookie, redirect, cache or checkout connection was not tested as one complete journey. Submit a test application, click a real tracked link in a private browser session, complete a test purchase if possible and inspect the resulting referral. Also check whether a later affiliate visit or last-referrer rule changes attribution.
