How to create a wedding planner website

Design & Layout Time About 2–4 hours 7 steps Updated 27 Sep 2026

DESIGN & LAYOUT
The short answer

Create the site in WordPress with a clear home page, service packages, galleries, testimonials, an about page and a contact form. You can build it manually with the block editor, but a ready-made wedding layout is faster when you want a polished result without coding.

The route
  1. 01Plan the site structure
  2. 02Build the pages manually
  3. 03Set the home page and menu
  4. 04Design the conversion sections
  5. 05Prepare images and accessibility
  6. 06Check mobile and launch
  7. 07Use a ready-made wedding layout

What you need

  • A WordPress site with a domain and hosting
  • Administrator access
  • Your logo, brand colours and wedding photography
  • Service descriptions, package details and testimonials
  • A contact-form plugin or enquiry service

Plan the site structure

Keep the first version focused. Create pages for Home, Services, Packages, About, Gallery, Testimonials, Blog and Contact. If you offer several types of planning, use separate service pages only when each one has useful, distinct information.

Use the home page to answer three questions quickly: what you do, where you work and how someone can enquire. Avoid starting with a full-screen image that hides the business name or call to action.

Build the pages manually

Go to Pages > Add New and create the core pages. The WordPress block editor is enough for a straightforward brochure site: use headings, columns, buttons, image galleries, quotes and lists to assemble each page. Pages are appropriate for information that does not depend on publishing dates.

Set a clear content order on the home page: introduction, services, selected work, process, testimonials, package starting points and enquiry button. The drawback is time: you must create the visual system, spacing, responsive layout and repeated sections yourself.

Set the home page and menu

Create a page called Home and, if needed, an empty page called Blog. Go to Settings > Reading, select A static page, choose Home as the homepage and Blog as the posts page, then save. WordPress will not use the page as your front page until this setting is made.

Add only the key links to the header: Services, Packages, Gallery, About and Contact. With a block theme, edit the Navigation block in the Site Editor; with other themes, use the theme’s menu controls. A page that is still a draft will not appear as a normal published menu item.

Design the conversion sections

Use one visual style throughout: two or three brand colours, one display font for headings and a readable body font. Give each service a short description, the type of couple it suits and a clear next step. For packages, show what is included, who the package is for and whether the displayed figure is a starting point.

Place an enquiry button near the top and repeat it after the services, gallery and testimonials. Ask for the date, location, guest count, service needed and budget range, but do not make the form so long that couples abandon it. Connect the form to an address that someone checks regularly.

Prepare images and accessibility

Resize and compress large photographs before uploading them, and use the image size that fits the page rather than inserting every file at full resolution. Oversized images can push a layout out of shape and slow the page.

Write useful alternative text for meaningful images, such as “outdoor wedding ceremony under a floral arch”. Leave alt text empty for purely decorative images. Check that text remains readable over photographs, buttons have descriptive labels and every gallery image has a purpose.

Check mobile and launch

Preview the site at desktop, tablet and mobile widths. Fix overflowing headings, cropped hero images, buttons that are difficult to tap, galleries that load too slowly and forms that do not fit the screen. Elementor and similar visual editors provide device-specific controls, but you still need to inspect the actual published pages.

Test every menu link, enquiry form, email notification, phone link and gallery. Check the site in a private browser window while logged out. The Friday problem is often a beautiful form that sends messages to an old address, so submit a real test enquiry before promoting the site.

Use a ready-made wedding layout

The fast route is to install a wedding-focused WordPress theme with the sections already designed, then replace the demo text, images, colours and contact details. Sukun is a suitable option because it is Elementor-ready and includes layouts for services, galleries, testimonials, pricing, team content and blog pages.

After importing a layout, check the menu, logo, site name, images and form connections rather than assuming everything is wired up. Elementor notes that imported kits can leave dependencies such as menus, site identity and other connections for you to configure.

Questions

Can I create a wedding planner website without a plugin?
Yes, you can build the pages and layout with the WordPress block editor and a suitable theme. You will still need a form solution if you want visitors to send enquiries through the site, and a ready-made theme or page builder is useful when you need galleries, pricing sections and consistent styling without writing code.
What pages should a wedding planner website include?
A wedding planner website should normally include Home, Services, Packages, About, Gallery, Testimonials and Contact pages. Add a Blog or inspiration section if you can maintain it. Keep the navigation short and use the home page to show your service area, planning approach, strongest work and a clear enquiry button.
Should wedding planners show prices on their website?
Show prices when your packages are reasonably standard, or show starting prices with an explanation of what changes the final quote. If every wedding is bespoke, list what each service includes and explain the enquiry process instead. Hiding all pricing can create unnecessary friction, especially when couples are comparing several planners.
How many photos should a wedding planner gallery contain?
Use enough images to show your style and range, but remove repeated or weak photographs. A curated gallery grouped by ceremony, reception, details and planning work is easier to browse than one long stream. Compress the files and add meaningful alt text so the gallery does not become the slowest part of the site.
Why does my imported website layout look incomplete?
An imported layout may not include connected menus, site identity, logos, forms or final content. Replace demo images and text, set the homepage, rebuild the navigation if necessary and check every form notification. Imported templates provide a starting structure; they do not guarantee that your business settings and third-party services are configured.
