How to create product landing pages in WooCommerce
You can create a product landing page by customising WooCommerce’s Single Product template, creating a product-specific template, or using a page builder with WooCommerce support. The manual block-editor route is enough for many stores; complex layouts usually need a compatible builder or theme.
- 01Prepare the product content
- 02Choose the page type
- 03Customise the product template
- 04Build the landing-page sections
- 05Use a builder when needed
- 06Test the complete buying path
What you need
- A WooCommerce store with the product already created
- Administrator or site-editor access
- Product images, copy, price and purchase settings
- A block theme or compatible page builder for advanced layouts
Prepare the product content
Open the product in Products and complete the title, price, short description, full description, featured image, gallery, inventory and product type. Add variations, attributes and shipping details before designing the page, because the purchase area must reflect the actual product settings.
Use a clear first image and put the main selling point in the short description. WooCommerce can use the short description in product cards and search-related excerpts, so do not leave it as placeholder text.
Choose the page type
Decide whether the landing page should replace the normal product page or sit as a separate campaign page. For most products, customise the Single Product template so the product URL, price, stock, variations, cart and checkout flow stay connected.
Use a separate landing page when you need a campaign-specific layout, such as a launch page or paid-ad destination. It still needs a working link to the product or a WooCommerce product component that displays the correct purchase controls.
Customise the product template
If your active theme supports the Site Editor, go to Appearance > Editor > Templates and open the WooCommerce Single Product template. Rearrange or remove blocks such as the product gallery, title, rating, price, summary, add-to-cart area, product meta, notices and related products. Add groups, columns, headings and other blocks around them to form the landing-page sections.
For one product only, add a product-specific template from the Templates area, choose Single item: Product, select the product and save. If the option is missing, the product may not exist yet, your theme may not be a block theme, or your account may lack design permissions.
Build the landing-page sections
Arrange the page in a buying sequence: a strong product image and headline, a short benefit-led summary, price and purchase controls, proof such as reviews or testimonials, detailed features, delivery information, FAQs and a final call to action.
Keep the add-to-cart area visible near the main product information. Do not replace it with a normal button unless that button leads to a working product URL. For variable products, confirm that customers can select every required option before adding the item to the cart.
Use a builder when needed
If your theme is not a block theme or you need a highly art-directed layout, use a page builder or WooCommerce-compatible theme with a single-product template feature. Elementor, for example, supports creating single-product templates and selecting the product they display, but some WooCommerce widgets and features require its paid version.
The drawback is another template system to maintain. A builder template may not apply because its display conditions are wrong, or it may show the same product in dynamic widgets. Check the template conditions and preview more than one product before publishing.
Test the complete buying path
Open the published product URL in a private browser window and check desktop and mobile layouts. Test image galleries, variation selectors, stock messages, coupons, add to cart, cart totals, checkout, notices and related-product links. Confirm that the landing layout applies to the intended product and has not replaced every product page by mistake.
Make changes on a staging copy where possible. Avoid editing WooCommerce core files. If you use PHP hooks or template overrides, place custom code in a child theme or a suitable snippets system and review it after WooCommerce updates; WooCommerce documents hooks and template overrides as developer-level customisation routes.
Fast way: Use a WooCommerce-focused landing-page theme such as Sapa, import a suitable demo, replace the demo product content and check the purchase flow. This is quicker than assembling every section yourself, but still test the final page on mobile and with the actual product variations.
Let Sapa do it
Landing-page-focused WooCommerce theme with demos and page-builder support, best for showcasing individual products with a polished storefront.

Questions
- Can WooCommerce create a product landing page without a plugin?
- Yes, if your theme supports the WordPress Site Editor, you can customise the WooCommerce Single Product template without an additional plugin. You can also create a template for one specific product. Classic themes usually offer fewer layout controls, so a page builder, theme feature or custom development may be needed for a highly customised design.
- What is the difference between a product page and a landing page?
- A product page is the standard WooCommerce page for an item, while a landing page is arranged around one conversion goal. A landing page usually gives more space to benefits, proof, FAQs and calls to action, while reducing navigation and distractions. It should still retain accurate price, stock, variation and cart functionality.
- Why is my custom WooCommerce product template not showing?
- The usual causes are an unsaved template, the wrong product selected, incorrect builder display conditions, or an active theme that does not use the Site Editor route you followed. Check the product-specific template assignment, clear caches, preview the exact product URL and test another product to see whether the template was applied globally.
- Can I create a separate landing page for one WooCommerce product?
- Yes, but the page must connect customers to the correct product and purchase flow. A page builder can display a selected single product, while a normal WordPress page can link to the product URL or use a WooCommerce shortcode block. Shortcodes are supported for legacy layouts, although WooCommerce recommends product blocks for newer builds.
- Do I need a page builder for a WooCommerce product landing page?
- No. The Site Editor is enough for many layouts when you use a compatible block theme. You need a builder or specialised theme when you want complex visual sections, advanced template conditions, reusable campaign designs or controls that your theme does not provide. The trade-off is more plugin and template maintenance.
