How to display Amazon affiliate products in WordPress

Join Amazon Associates for the Amazon store you want to promote and create the tracking ID you will use on this WordPress site. If you target several countries, check each store's programme and link requirements rather than assuming one tracking ID works everywhere.

Add the required statement where visitors can see it: As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon requires this identification to be clear and prominent.

Open Amazon while signed in to your Associates account, find the product, and use the SiteStripe toolbar to create a text link. Select the correct tracking ID, copy the generated link, and keep the product destination on the relevant Amazon store.

Do not type a price that may become stale, and do not download or reuse Amazon product images unless the method you use is authorised under the Associates rules. Amazon product data, images and links are governed by its programme agreement, so a plain text recommendation is the safer manual option.

Preview the page in an incognito window and click each product link. Confirm that it opens the intended Amazon store, includes your tracking ID, and does not pass through a cloaked or broken redirect. Then check the disclosure on mobile, where a footer-only notice may be easy to miss.

The manual method becomes difficult when a product is discontinued, its destination changes or several posts contain the same recommendation. You must find and update those links yourself, and manually entered prices can mislead visitors.
